Cattle
Our ranch has been a cattle and or sheep operation since the early 1900’s. Since Sopris Mountain Ranch was purchased in 1982 from the Strang family, we have continued to raise cattle and lease pasture for livestock to maintain our history and ranching tradition. Our beautiful fields provide excellent pasture for grazing horses and cattle, and for growing hay.
We have a permanent Black Angus cow/calf operation with a full-time herd of 20 to 25 mother cows and their calves and one bull. Our cows are bred naturally here on the ranch for spring calving. Our herd is grass-fed and chemical-free, and supplies meat to homeowners and buyers who appreciate high quality beef.
